Last week, John completed a three-day public speaking training session for my team and I at the World Intellectual Property Organization. We learned how to craft compelling content, how to connect with audiences and how to make messages stick. We did practical exercises – both off the cuff and prepared – which John filmed and critiqued. He shared technical tips for effective and memorable powerpoint slides, as well as a trove of readings and other resources to follow up on. John was captivating and outstanding throughout. I first met John at a Public Speaking Conference in Basel, Switzerland; I was a competitor and he was the contest chair. I had been aware of John for a while from his public speaking videos on YouTube.
